Calls for Artists

Pittsburgh Filmmakers/Pittsburgh Center for the Arts (PF/PCA) provides opportunities and environments that encourage an open exchange of images and ideas to foster our vibrant community of artists. In addition to PF/PCA's calls for artists, we also list calls from affiliated groups and other venues. To request your call to be listed, please email membership@pittsburgharts.org.

Awake!

We are looking for contemporary artists’ books, zines, photobooks and photobook-related materials that assert their dissatisfaction, their dissent and their protest with the world today. We are living in a time where power resides in the hands of too few, and we rightfully and across the globe are outraged. Documentarians, artists and creators are all responding in a myriad of different ways: 10×10 is not looking to define your protest. Our hope is to bring together the multiple voices existing in the world and provide amplification. Your responses can be esoteric, blatant or anywhere in-between.

The first Awake! Reading Room will be exhibited at the PGH Photo Fair at the Carnegie Museum from April 29 to 30, 2017.

Deadline: April 3, 2017

Blue - Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh

Consider blue. Is it a color, a state of mind, or does it represent a place and time in history for you? We live on a blue planet; blue represents national and political identity; it symbolizes trust, loyalty, confidence and the heavens; blue is associated with harmony but also represents the human emotion of sadness and melancholy. How do you relate? Where is blue represented in your life?

Anyone is welcome to enter. Non Fiberarts Guild Members must live within 150 miles of Pittsburgh and will be required to join the Fiberarts Guild of Pittsburgh if accepted. All current Fiberarts Guild Members may enter, regardless of location.
