Cinema Program Manager

Pittsburgh Filmmakers operates three movie theaters in the Pittsburgh area that feature alternatives to the multiplex – American indies, documentaries, foreign films, classics,  and experimental media. All three theaters are equipped to project 16mm, 35mm, and digital.

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the growth and develop of a multifaceted film screening program that includes regular film screenings, exhibitions, festivals, educational programming, and other special events.

Facilities Maintenance Manager

Pittsburgh Filmmakers operates art education programs and exhibition programs throughout five buildings throughout Pittsburgh’s East End neighborhoods -  Shadyside, North Oakland and Regent Square.   The primary purpose of this position is to maintain the buildings and grounds of an organization, directing staff and overseeing the upkeep of equipment and supplies. The facilities maintenance manager makes sure the buildings and grounds are maintained, which entails daily and weekly cleaning schedules as well as determining and scheduling repairs, renovation projects, waste reduction and removal and ensuring the safety of the spaces.

Duties include assisting students and members with equipment questions, assisting instructors, dispensing equipment, equipment and facility maintenence, mixing chemistry, film projection, and some light clerical work. Internships in exchange for access may be arranged. Experience in film, video, photography, and computers is helpful but not required.


Pittsburgh Filmmakers - Adjunct Facullty

We are currently seeking adjunct faculty for Fall 2017 and Spring 2018. We’re looking for people who are interested in teaching existing analog/digital courses, and those who have specialized skills, and could offer new courses based on expertise.

Teaching Artists

Pittsburgh Center for the Arts is currently seeking Teaching Artists in all studio arts mediums, creative writing, and mixed media for all learning levels and class formats. Teaching artists are contracted for each individual program within five semesters. The next programatic semester is Fall (September - November). Learn more about this opportunity and apply here.

Class Proposals at PCA

If you are a local visual artist or creative writer and have a unique idea for an educational program, submit a Class Proposal Form. Before submitting, please first familiarize yourself with the programs PCA currently offers. Artists that have not taught at PCA in the past three years should submit a resume and two examples of work through the online application. Applications will be accepted year-round.


PCA Events Crew

The PCA is looking for creative individuals who can work weekends, mostly in the evenings during wedding season (May to October and the holiday season) for the PCA Events Crew.

PCA Shop: Holiday Shop Retail

The shop is seeking an experienced retailer with a passion for art and strong customer service skills. Successful candidates will help assist in set-up and display as the shop expands into a large space for the annual Holiday Shop. Shop staff is also expected to familiarize themselves with individual shop artist’s medium, style, and approaches to their creating in an effort to best inform interested patrons.
